pita with falafel and garlic sauce



  • pita bread
  • 1 small head roma lettuce
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tablespoon flour
  • 1 tablespoon chopped coriander
  • 1 cup non dairy milk
  • 1 red bell paper
  • 5 large mushrooms
  • 400 grams chickpeas
  • 1 union
  • 1 thee spoon chili flakes
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric
  • pinch of salt
  • half a the spoon grinded black pepper
  • 1 thee spoon grinded cumin
  • 1 thee spoon coriander powder
  • 2 tablespoon flour


  • chop up the coriander and 3 garlic cloves, put in a small saucepan with a bit of oil and saute for 1 to 2 minutes
  • ad the non dairy milk, butter and 1/2 tablespoon flour, whisk until smooth then transfer to a container and let chill in the refrigerator
  • put your chickpeas, 1 chopped garlic clove, the chili flakes, grinded cumin, coriander powder, 2 tablespoons flour, grinded black pepper, turmeric, chopped union and the salt in your food processor
  • make small burger like pieces from your chickpea mixture
  • chop up your bell paper and mushrooms, saute in a frying pan with a bit of oil on medium heat until done
  • bake your falafel pieces in a frying pan with a bit of oil on medium heat 4 minutes each side
  • roast your pita bread in your toaster until golden brown
  • cut open your pita bread, and let cool for a bit
  • wash your lettuce and chop up if you want
  • fill your pita bread with your garlic sauce, lettuce, falafel, bell paper and mushroom mixture, and some more garlic sauce
  • enjoy!
